Bad things, good people…grrrrhhh???!#$

The classic question: Why do bad things happen to good people.

In my own attempt to be intellectual, emotionally sensitive, theologically adept and “kia” (Know-It-All), I tried to answer this in many instances.  But, here are 3 realities that I realized with this irony:

1. I really don’t know the answer.

I don’t want to pretend that I know.

2. God is also sovereign, in charge and in control.

Whew, I thank God that He is and that He sees a much bigger picture than what I see in my front view mirror.

3. God works for the good of those who love Him (Romans 8:28)

Clearly, we are not spared from tragedies, illnesses, and other adverse life circumstances. But, in any of them, GOD is working for His people’s good.

I guess the real, logical and practical question is…who is working for our good?

To speak honestly I feel that the closer I got to him, the more difficult things became. I was the second highest officer in our company, worked my heart out and offered each and every little or great “victory” to our Lord, yet my pay was reduced to a third and two other people now share the same spot as I have…and I am HAPPY for it is only now that I LEARNED what it is to HAVE Him in my life and I mean REALLY HAVE Him. He’s the only “person” I have and the only one I cling to. He is my shield, my strength, my fortress, deliverer, my shelter, strong tower, my very present help in time of need. I only have the Lord and I…have everything.
